So, what's this site all about, anyway?Welcome to my online Art Portfolio. When I graduated from Mississippi State University (a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...) I worked very hard at putting together my art portfolio. I actually had two of them: one for graphic design, and one for drawing. For graphic design, I had this clever little black portfolio case with a zipper that ran around three sides. It had these nifty acetate pages into which I could slide examples of my graphic design ability. My drawing portfolio was not so clever: a really, really big black portfolio case (about 36" x 48") with a zipper that ran around three sides and no nifty acetate pages. Everything was just piled in there as neatly as I could organize it without the aid of nifty acetate pages. Of course, I had no idea what I was going to do with these collections of my artwork. Upon graduation, I immediately moved to the Wild, Wild West where I had no idea that I could not just flash these handy-dandy tools and proclaim my possession of a Bachelor of Fine Arts from an accredited university and be given the job of my dreams. Actually, that's what this little section of my website is all about. After trying nearly everything (no exaggeration--look at my resume), it took me nearly two decades to figure out just exactly what the job of my dreams is. After much experimentation, preparation, and cogitation, I have recently settled on teaching high school art in Baltimore City, and I LOVE it! Now I create my own artwork (drawing, painting, making prints, web design, digital art, and textile art) for the sheer joy of it; and everything I do is dress rehearsal for teaching my students how to do the same--a win/win. I am hoping to spend the rest of my career teaching here in Baltimore City, and making my own artwork as well. That said, I hope you will enjoy taking a spin around my online art portfolio. These days, there is no fiddling and fumbling with that big, clumsy drawing portfolio of the dark ages that I used to lug around. You can just click on the Portfolio link and begin your tour. You won't even get your hands dirty--the Internet is a wonderful thing. Needless to say, as much as I LOVE my students and teaching in Baltimore City, I'm not going to get rich as a high school art teacher and it would be a really good idea to supplement this endeavor by selling some artwork here and there. If you are a publisher or a licenser of artwork, or a collector, and you like my work, you may contact me via the methods indicated at the bottom of every page of this website. I welcome your feedback and your interest. Enjoy.
